Direct replacement LED lighting for conventional light bulbs
LED is a lighting device that uses Light Emitting Diodes as the source of light. The LEDs might be conventional semiconductors to newer Organic LEDs(OLED) and Polymer LEDs(PLED). Whilst light output of LEDs is smaller, multiple diodes are used together to create a higher lumens intensity.
As LED technology has improved over the years, so has the quality of lighting. A recent high powered LED chip which is available for commercail use, can emit 7,527 lumens @ 100 watts. To put this into perspective an incandecent light bulb can emit between 400-852 lumens @ 60 watt depending on the specific bulb used.
