There are numerous benefits in using LED lighting.
Energy Efficient LED Lighting
Long-lasting
LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents, and far longer than typical incandescents.
Cost-effective
Although LEDs are expensive, the cost is recouped typically within 18 months. In addition to the obvious saving in energy, there is also the reduction in maintenance and replacement costs.
Durable
Since LEDs do not have a filament, they are not damaged under circumstances when a regular incandescent bulb would be broken. Because they are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and bumping.
More efficient
LED light bulbs use only 2-10 watts of electricity (1/3rd to 1/30th of Incandescent or Compact Fluorescent) Also, because these bulbs last for years, energy is saved in maintenance and replacement costs.
Cool
Because LED light bulbs are more efficient in producing light, they do not cause heat build-up; LEDs produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared to 85 for incandescent bulbs. This makes them ideal for situations where a cool temperature is critical.
Green Energy
Because of the low power requirement for LEDs, environmentally-friendly power sources such as solar panels becomes more practical and less expensive than running an electric cables or using a generator for lighting.
The low energy use of LEDs means that highly efficient lighting solutions can be developed to replace existing, inefficient lighting. The longevity of LED light bulbs mean that fewer lamps are required or need to be disposed of.
Mercury-free
LED lights are RoHS complaint and no hazardous Mercury Vapour is used in the manufacturing of LEDs. As such there are no expensive re-cycling costs associated with LED lights.
